(UNDATED) - Bringing high speed communication to Indiana’s rural areas is the focus of the second annual statewide broadband conference.
Indiana's 2006 telecom deregulation law spurred competition among service providers and ushered in an era of explosive growth in technology. But Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman says most of the state's rural areas lag behind the cities in acquiring high speed communication technology.
The conference is looking for ways to help the rural areas catch up so that the state's economic growth and quality of life becomes more homogenous.
