(INDIANAPOLIS) - Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi has filed charges against Brian Reese for the July 10th shooting of police officer Jason Fishburn.
Fishburn has been recovering from a gunshot wound of the head. Another bullet struck Fishburn's chest but he was saved by his bullet- proof vest.
Reese is charged with one count of attempted murder, one count of c felony carrying a handgun without a license and one count of a misdemeanor resisting law enforcement. Reese was slightly wounded as he was being chased by Fishburn and arrested.
Brizzi says ballistics confirms that a bullet recovered from Fishburn's vest was fired from a .38 caliber handgun that was lying next to Reese.
Reese is also charged in the July 6th murder of 69 year old Clifford Haddix and the slayings of Crystal Jenkins and Demetrius Allen two days later.
Brizzi says prosecutors may seek the death penalty or life in prison without parole in those cases.
