(RICHMOND) - A Florida woman was sentenced to 21 months in prison for embezzling almost $400,000 from a Richmond, Indiana credit union.
35-year-old Jill Carey of Largo, Florida worked in management for the Health Care Professionals Credit Union in Richmond between 1993 and 2006, and was in charge of all the tellers including head teller Renee Pennington who has already been sentenced to a year behind bars for embezzling $185,000 from the credit union, FBI officials say.
Carey has been ordered to repay almost $395,000 and will also serve 5 years on supervised release after her initial 21 month prison stint.
FBI investigators say they probably would not have caught her had she not also changed the due date on her personal auto loan as well.
