(MIDDLETOWN) - Henry County sheriff investigators are still looking for Michael C. Patterson’s killer.
The 49 year-old DNR employee was beaten to death Monday afternoon shortly after arriving at his home in Middletown, near the Henry-Delaware County line.
Investigators say it looks like someone had broken into Patterson's home, but didn't steal anything. They're looking for a man who was seen at the house in an early 90's red Ford pickup truck with a utility bed. He's described as a white male, about 6 feet tall and 240 pounds.
Anyone with information about the murder is asked to call the Henry County sheriff's department at 765-529-5669.
Captain Kim Cronk with the sheriff's department says so far there's no connection between Patterson's murder in Middletown and a similar crime last March. That's when a Ball State University employee, Garth Rector, was shot to death after arriving at his home in Muncie. But Cronk says they're keeping all possibilities open.
