(EVANSVILLE) - A suspect in a string of car arsons in Evansville made a court appearance on Monday.
Police department corporal Steve Green says 23-year-old Alexis Brown was arrested Friday on a warrant. Green says brown is a suspect in at least 17 of the vehicles arsons that have occurred north of the downtown area since early this year. He's facing preliminary charges of arson.
Green says detectives are looking at a different suspect in connection with a series of arson fires vacant houses in the same general area and that investigation is continuing.
