(STATEHOUSE) - Nearly 400 of state government’s longest-serving employees have been honored in a statehouse ceremony.
When Ronald Renkenberger, Fred Anderson and Bill Grepke started work with the Department of Transportation, the Dodgers had just left Brooklyn, "Gunsmoke" was the number-one show on TV, and Barack Obama hadn't been born.
They're among six state workers marking a half-century on the job. Another 361 are celebrating their 35th, 40th or 45th anniversaries.
Workers received a picture frame with a quote from Theodore Roosevelt extolling public service.
