(UNDATED) - Chicago is bidding for the 2016 Olympics and if they get it the Windy City would likely be sharing the wealth with Hoosiers.
The bid requires the organizers to go outside of Chicago to get all the hotel rooms that they need and they've already had some meetings with Northern Indiana hotel officials.
Curt Branningan with the Indiana Office of Tourism Development says more than just Northern Indiana will benefit since many people would be flying into Indianapolis and others who'll be driving on the interstates will be traveling through cities like Richmond and Terre Haute.
He says if Chicago gets the Olympics, it could bode well for any future bid by Indianapolis to get the games since the very important people who organize the Olympics will be in our neighborhood
