(INDIANAPOLIS) - An intruder was killed while attempting to rape a 17-year-old girl in Indianapolis Sunday.
Police say 52-year-old David Meyers broke into the home and was armed with a knife and wore a mask and gloves, but nothing else.
The girl's screams alerted her father, 64 year-old Robert McNally, who came to her room and restrained Meyers while the girl's mother called 911.
When police arrived and handcuffed Meyers, he had stopped breathing and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say he was a registered sex offender.
