(UNDATED) - It was just two months ago when Indiana had some of the highest gas prices in the nation.
AAA Hoosier Motor Club Spokesman Greg Seiter says the average price of gas in Indiana spiked on September 16th at $4.17 for regular unleaded. Now Indiana is enjoying it's place at the bottom of the high-price list with prices averaging around $1.81.
The Oil Price Information Service says Indiana is ranked 5th with the lowest price in the nation, preceded only by Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
Still, Seiter says AAA is projecting a lower number of drivers on the roadways for the holidays. He cites the struggling economy as a reason for the lower numbers.
