(WEST LAFAYETTE) - Authorities are hoping to determine this week whether a West Lafayette man is criminally responsible for causing a two-vehicle crash that killed a 16-year-old girl.
29-year-old Joseph Welch remains in the Tippecanoe County Jail. Katherine Baker died at the scene of the crash Sunday.
Authorities are looking into which driver had the right-of-way at the West Lafayette intersection, and how would it affect any charges against Welch.
Police said Welch had a blood-alcohol content more than double Indiana's legal limit.
