(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indy’s new airport is open for business.
Mayor Greg Ballard, former Mayor Steve Goldsmith, Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman and Fourth District Congressman Steve Buyer were among a gaggle of dignitaries cutting a thousand-foot red ribbon encircling the giant atrium in the new terminal.
The new midfield terminal has been talked about for 33 years, and plans began moving forward under Goldsmith in the late 1990s.
Indy is the first major new airport to open since 9/11.
