(UNDATED) - The Salvation Army is now recruiting volunteers to staff the red kettles and ring the famous bell.
Bell ringing begins after November 20th in 140 locations throughout Central Indiana. Mike Rowland with the Salvation Army says staffing the red kettles is something many service groups enjoy doing each year.
Rowland says the Salvation Army's goal remains is the same as last year, $2.75 million. $858,000 of that amount came from red kettle donations.
To volunteer as a bell ringer, contact the Salvation Army's Volunteer Coordinator, Elizabeth Wilhelm, at (317) 224-1010. You can also get more information online about volunteering at indykettle.org.
