(PENDLETON) - A Pendleton Correctional Facility guard beaten by an inmate says she may sue.
Guard Brandi Gilland was attacked last weekend while securing cells for the night. Gilland says a procedural change at the prison has made it unsafe.
Gilland was the only guard in the maximum-security unit at the time of the attack. Gilland says staff shortages are the problem.
Prison Superintendent Brett Mize is disputing Gilland's claims, saying staff levels are not an issue and internal assaults are down significantly.
