(INDIANAPOLIS) - Monday, December 1st is World AIDS Day.
The Damien Center in Indianapolis is an organization who's mission is to lead the fight to prevent the spread of HIV and to help people in Central Indiana affected by AIDS to live with dignity.
Lisa Terry with the Center says since people with HIV are surviving longer today, many people think a cure has been found for AIDS. But unfortunately there's still no cure.
Terry says the need for AIDS awareness continues, so several organizations are educating people at risk to change their behavior to avoid spreading the disease.
