(EVANSVILLE) - Evansville police fatally shot a murder suspect.
Police identify the suspect as 20-year-old Christopher Banister. He died at a hospital following Tuesday night's shooting.
Authorities say Banister was shot after a foot chase into an apartment complex. They say he fired shots at officers who were pursuing him.
Banister was labeled a suspect in the shooting death of 50-year-old Garry Gilmore of Evansville. The cab driver was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head in his cab Tuesday afternoon. The cab was found with its engine running and still in gear.
