Last updated on Monday, December 1, 2008

(CARMEL) - Police say an 18-year-old Muncie woman died early Sunday after the car in which she was riding collided with a semitrailer truck.

Veda Douglas was pronounced dead at an Indianapolis Hospital following the crash at 116th and Meridian Streets in Carmel. The driver, 22-year-old Vernell Hill of Indianapolis, and two other passengers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators believe alcohol might have played a role in the crash.
