(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Circle City Classic’s loss is the 2012 Super Bowl host committee’s gain.
Classic Executive Director Tony Mason will leave that post to become senior vice-president of the host committee. Mason will work directly with developing initiatives such as the emerging business program for minority and women-owned businesses and the near Eastside legacy project as well developing the thousands of volunteers needed for the event.
Mason says it was the lasting legacy the Super Bowl will have on the community and the impact it will leave on the city's young people that drew him to the position.
Mason will stay with the Circle City Classic through March to ensure operations and preparations for that event are in order. He will join the Super Bowl host committee staff officially in April.
