(UNDATED) - The largest Indiana National Guard deployment will result in the largest welcome home honor ceremony, so large that Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis will be the venue.
Over 3,500 National Guard troops with the 76th Infantry Brigade spent 9 months in Iraq and returned home in waves in November and December. It was the largest single deployment since World War II.
The ceremony will recognize all Indiana soldiers who have and continue to serve around the world as well as pay tribute to those killed or wounded while serving.
The welcome home heroes celebration will take place January 31st at Noon.
