(ANDERSON) - The Salvation Army in Anderson received some special gifts from an unlikely source.
75 bicycles... refurbished by prisoner!
Through the Indiana Department of Corrections "Shifting Gears" program, inmates from Pendleton Corrections Facility refurbished the donated bikes and distributed them to the Salvation Army.
The program, which started in 2006, provides meaningful employment for offenders and meaningful gifts for needy children in Madison County.
