(STATEHOUSE) - A resolution passed in the state senate designates sugar cream pie as “Hoosier Pie.”
Lawmakers took time Thursday to recognize a longtime Indiana company, Mrs. Wick's Pie Shop and Wick's Pies of Winchester, Indiana.
Senators passed a non-binding resolution naming that East Central Indiana city as the state's pie capital.
Thursday's action does not give sugar cream pie official state status; it merely recommends that lawmakers pass a law doing so.
