(EVANSVILLE) - About 70 members of the 384th military police unit will be heading out from the national guard armory in Evansville this morning for a year-long deployment in Iraq.
Amanda Yarde is the family resource leader for the unit. Yarde says the troops will leave the armory by bus about 7:00 this morning and the public is encouraged to come out and line the route they will travel out of town.
The group will spend a few days in Camp Atterbury before flying out to Fort Dix, New Jersey from which they will be deployed to Iraq for about a year.
