(EVANSVILLE) - A tristate-area soldier deployed to Iraq wants to help veterans who may need it once they return from active duty though the Evansville Habitat For Humanity chapter.
Major Jason Burley has started the "Deployed For Habitat" build fund, hoping that a Habitat house can be built in Evansville later this year for a homeless veteran.
Local Habitat Spokeswoman Lydia Johnson says more than a thousand dollars has already been raised for the fund. She says you can make donations to it by logging on evansvillehabitat.org, clicking on "donate now" and choosing the "Deployed For Habitat" fund from the drop-down menu.
