(RICHMOND) - A veteran eastern Indiana judge will become the next chairman of the agency that enforces Indiana’s alcohol and tobacco laws on March 23rd, one month from today.
P. Thomas Snow says his last day as Wayne County superior court-one judge will be March 9th, ending a 20-year career on the bench.
Governor Mitch Daniels says Snow brings his knowledge of the law and impeccable integrity to the post. As chairman of the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission, Judge Snow will be in charge of the Indiana state excise police and the efforts to implement changes in the state's alcohol and tobacco laws.
Snow fills the vacancy left by the resignation last year of former Tippecanoe County sheriff and Lafayette Mayor Dave Heath.
Snow came to Richmond after law school in 1972 to join a private law practice and was first elected as judge in 1988.
Governor Daniels will soon name a replacement for Judge Snow.
