(CHESTERTON) - Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District officials say the introduction of 14 new double-decker trains on the South Shore Commuter Rail Line will be delayed because of electrical problems.
Problems with the cars' auxiliary power units must first be repaired and various testing will be ongoing through March. The cars were delivered to the South Shore shops in Michigan City in November.
South Shore Commuter Line operator Jerry Hanas says they expect very nice results from the bi-level cars once they are operational.
