(UNDATED) - The Indiana Supreme Court has upheld the convictions of murderer Robert Jeffrey Pelley.
Pelley is serving a 160 year prison term for killing his father, stepmother and two stepsisters in 1989 at the family's Lakeville home. Lakeville is located in St. Joseph County.
Pelley's father was the minister of the Olive Branch Church, near South Bend. The murders happened after Pelley's father grounded him from attending senior prom activities.
Prosecutors say the teen shot his father in order to attend the activities and killed his stepmother and stepsisters because they were present when he killed his father. The teenager is accused of killing his family, then attending the prom and prom activities, including a trip to a Great America Amusement Park.
Pelley appealed his conviction for many reasons, including insufficient evidence, excluded evidence and denial of a special prosecutor. The supreme court disagreed, affirming his convictions.
