(SOUTH BEND) - A woman is accused of robbing a South Bend Long John Silver’s restaurant while tearfully apologizing to the cashier.
The woman, whose identity wasn't released, was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail on a charge of theft Tuesday night.
Police say the woman told the cashier she had a gun and needed money, then began crying and said, "if I wasn't down and out, I wouldn't be doing this."
The woman was running across a nearby parking lot as police arrived and arrested her.
