(LAFAYETTE) - Two Lafayette women were killed in a chain-reaction crash on I-65 late Saturday morning near u.s. 38.
30-year-old Julie Sennett and 29-year-old Jessica McCarthy died in the crash.
Sennett's fiancée and McCarthy husband suffered minor injuries.
All four were in the same car.
Police say the deaths occurred when 18-year-old Sabrina Campbell of Indianapolis lost control of her northbound car, striking a box truck which veered into the median and into the southbound lanes, striking the car McCarthy was driving.
McCarthy's car then struck a southbound semi truck. State police say slick road conditions may have been a factor in the deaths.
