(UNDATED) - Its now official, Indiana experienced three tornadoes on Sunday.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Jason Puma says crews surveyed damage in Daviess, Knox and Martin counties on Monday and determined the damage was from strong straight line winds.
However, the straight line winds that caused damage in Odon, were stronger than the tornadic winds north of Bedford. Puma says that's why severe thunderstorms are just as dangerous as tornadoes.
Fayetteville, in Lawrence County, had the worst of Sunday's weather. An F3 tornado carried winds up to 135 miles per hour and damaged or destroyed 20 buildings.
An F0 tornado was measured north of Bedford and an F1 hit in Whitley County.
