Couple Murdered In Sleep

Last updated on Saturday, March 7, 2009

(NOBLESVILLE) - A man who killed a woman and her lover while they slept in a Hamilton County home will likely spend the rest of his life in prison.

A jury found 25-year-old Anthony Delarosa of Zionsville guilty, Friday, of the murders of Rebecca Payne and her companion George Banner.

According to prosecutors, Delarosa was hired by Toby Payne - the victim's husband - to shoot the couple in April of 2007 while they were in bed.

Toby Payne is awaiting his trial.

Another man, 24-year-old Juan Lucio, has already been sentenced to eight years in prison for driving Delarosa to the home where the couple was murdered.

On Monday, prosecutors will ask jurors to recommend a life sentence for Delarosa.
