(MUNCIE) - A Dunkirk woman could spend a year in jail for what police say she did to her ex-boyfriend’s puppy.
20-year-old Alyssa Riddle was charged this week with cruelty to an animal after she allegedly slammed a Labrador retriever puppy against a hardwood table.
It was riddle's ex boyfriend who called police after the alleged attack.
When they arrived, they arrested riddle and took her to Delaware county jail.
Besides the cruelty charge, she's also charged with residential entry and possession of a controlled substance.
Police say they discovered vicodin tablets inside her purse.
Riddle's ex-boyfriend said he planned to take the puppy to a vet.
Riddle - who's now bonded out of jail - will go back to court march 23 for an initial hearing.
