(FORT WAYNE) - Transportation services provider Buchanan Hauling and Rigging announced today that it will expand its headquarters operations, creating up to 60 new jobs by 2012.
The company, which provides distribution services to several Fortune 500 companies and manufacturers in a variety of commercial industries, will invest $520,000 to upgrade the facility and machinery.
The distribution company has grown to operate a fleet of nearly 200 tractor-trailers with operations in Indiana, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
The announcement adds to Indiana's growing transportation and logistics industry. Indiana is home to more than 4,700 miles of mainline rail track, three international airports and more than 11,000 total highway miles.
Each year, more than 1.1 billion tons of freight travel through Indiana, making it the fifth busiest state for commercial freight traffic in the nation.
