(UNDATED) - The 2009 Miss America is back home again in Indiana to play with the children.
Part of Katie Stam's responsibilities as Miss America is to advocate for the Children's Miracle Network.
Stam visited with children at Riley Hospital for Children and attended the Wal-Mart and Sam's Club appreciation day luncheon to thank volunteers for raising a record $1.4 million for the charity in 2008.
Stam participated in Champions Across America events in Florida and Washington, DC where kid ambassadors from all over the country gathered to celebrate the children's miracle network.
