(MUNCIE) - If you thought the Muncie mayoral race was settled more than a year ago, think again.
Republican Mayor Sharon McShurley and Democrat Jim Mansfield today square off before the Indiana Court of Appeals on the campus of Purdue University.
Mansfield is seeking a special election in the predominantly Democratic precinct 46 that would decide who won the 2007 race.
He was the apparent winner of the election until a recount requested by the Delaware County Republican Party threw out 19 absentee ballots from that precinct because a republican-appointed clerk had failed to initial them, changing the results of the election.
Each side gets 20 minutes to make their case.
