(UNDATED) - Indiana Senator Evan Bayh is pushing for new rules to prevent credit card companies from gouging cardholders.
Bayh says the companies should be required to send bills 7 days earlier to give more time to look over the bill.
He also wants the payment apply first to the most expensive part of the bill, instead of the least expensive.
Bayh was the deciding vote to move the bill out of the Senate banking committee.
