(LINTON) - A Greene County legislator plans to introduce a bill that would prohibit a person from applying spray-on tans at tanning salons to minors of the opposite sex.
Republican State Representative Bruce Borders of Jasonville was prompted by a recent case in Linton where a man applied spray-on tan to a nude 15 year old girl who had forged a note from her mother.
It turns out there is no law right now to prevent it and a juvenile doesn't even need their parent's permission.
Borders plans to introduce a measure that would prohibit a person at a tanning salon to spray-tan a juvenile of the opposite sex.
It would also require anyone under the age of 18 to have the signature of a parent and that person would have to sign the form in front of the tanning salon operator.
Borders says the bill is also designed to protect the business owner.
