(NEW ALBANY) - The Pink Culbertson Mansion state historic site in New Albany will soon be painted a new color.
The 1867 structure is being prepped for painting in William S. Culbertson's original color choice: pumpkin.
The pink color reportedly was the result of a botched first attempt in 2000 to go back to pumpkin.
The painting is part of a two-decades-old restoration project of the structure.
Friends of Culbertson Mansion have put 700-thousand dollars into work inside the home to date.
The Culbertson Mansion will show off the restoration techniques during a forum on June 6.
