(UNDATED) - Be sure to leave some nonperishable food items at your mailbox for your letter carrier to pick up on Saturday.
That's when the National Association of Letter Carriers is conducting their annual "stamp out hunger" food drive.
You probably got one of the half-million plastic grocery bags this week provided by marsh supermarkets.
Use it to hold your nonperishable food items and leave it at your mailbox for your letter carrier to pick up on Saturday.
The donations will go to local food banks, pantries and shelters to help families in need.
Last year in central Indiana, letter carriers collected over a quarter million pounds of food.
The nationwide campaign is the largest food drive in the world and may hit one billion pounds of donations this year.
