(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles is touting efforts to prevent identity theft and fraud.
The BMV claims money spent on new facial recognition technology is already paying off with the arrest of a man on fraud charges.
David Grice was taken to the fountain county after he attempted to get his seventh Indiana driver's license under an identity other than his own.
BMV Commissioner Amy Miller announced the arrest Tuesday at an identity theft and fraud symposium in Indianapolis.
The BMV is also forming a new fraud and security enforcement division to bump up protection measures.
The identity theft resource center calculates that there is some type of identity theft or fraud every two seconds in the United States.
