(UNDATED) - The US Supreme Court is delaying the sale of most of Chrysler’s assists to a group led by Italy’s Fiat.
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has decided the nation's highest court could hear an appeal from three Indiana pension funds that are objecting to the deal.
The pension funds maintain that Chrysler should have sold itself off in pieces because that would have been better for secured lenders.
A federal appeals court in New York had earlier approved the sale, but gave opponents some time to file an appeal.
Chrysler has said a delay could ruin the deal.
