County Auditor Faces Criminal Charges

(GREENFIELD) - The Hancock County auditor is facing criminal charges following a two-month investigation by state police.

42-year-old Linda Grass was arrested for allegedly hiring her cousin to perform Hancock County courthouse repairs.

The work was never approved by county commissioners.

Barger contracting owner James Barger was paid about 238-thousand dollars for the work on the courthouse.

Police say Grass then received 54-thousand dollars from him that she deposited in her personal checking account.
