(UNDATED) - Ten-thousand pairs of shoes are being given to Hoosiers in need.
Nashville, Tennessee-based Soles4Souls Shoe Charity partnered with Wheeler Mission and Finish Line Monday to distribute thousands of new shoes.
Wheeler mission Chief Development Officer Steve Kerr says more people are forced to go barefoot than we realize.
He says there are 300 million people worldwide who go without footwear.
Many of his clients are forced to choose between buying something to eat or purchasing a new pair of shoes.
You can help reduce that number by donating gently worn pairs to Finish Line.
The Indianapolis-based shoe and athletic wear retailer will clean them up, keep them out of landfills and get them to those in need.
