(FORT WAYNE) - The GM assembly plant in Fort Wayne could be in line for a 46-million dollar expansion.
The bankrupt automaker says the plant is one of several being considered to build heavy-duty, extended cab pickup trucks.
It's not clear who the other contenders might be, but Allen County Council Vice President Paula Hughes wants to win that contest.
She says, "It would be very important to Allen County."
Hughes expects approval of a ten year, $27-million tax abatement.
