(UNDATED) - The Hollywood movie “Public Enemies” about bank robber John Dillinger hits theaters July 1st.
Dillinger was a Hoosier, but quickly got a bad boy reputation nationwide.
Dillinger robbed banks in Daleville, Indianapolis, Green Castle, South Bend and many other cities.
He was once held in the Michigan City Prison and he was married in Martinsville.
John Dillinger is buried at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.
The movie about him has premiered in Chicago.
Johnny Depp, the lead in the movie, attended the opening held in the Windy City, where Dillinger died July 22, 1934.
