(STATEHOUSE) - The drawn-out battle to craft a new state budget is sending a state senate race into overtime.
Indianapolis republican Teresa Lubbers announced in April she'd resign to become the Head of the State Commission for higher education.
But Lubbers' resignation doesn't take effect until the legislature concludes its business by passing a budget, and lubbers has remained on the job during the special session.
