One Dead Following Police Stand-Off

(HOBART) - A Hobart man was shot and killed by police after a standoff. 33-year-old Ricardo Diaz was pronounced dead at the scene early Saturday.

Police were called to a house for a suicide report.

Officers learned Diaz was upset over a work-related issue.

Police negotiators had been speaking to Diaz for nearly two hours when he unexpectedly left the home and pointed a handgun at a lake county officer.

Officers then shot and killed Diaz.
