Senate Republicans Stop Changes To Stopgap Budget

Last updated on Tuesday, June 23, 2009

(STATEHOUSE) - Senate republicans have beaten back proposed changes to a proposed stopgap budget.

The senate plans to vote Wednesday on a bill to give the State Budget Director to continue funding state government at current spending levels if the legislature fails to pass a budget by the June 30 deadline.

President pro tem David Long's bill would allow those spending levels to continue for the entire two years if necessary.
