(NOBLESVILLE) - A Sheridan teenager is facing eight charges following a hit and run incident with a Westfield Police vehicle early Sunday.
Police say Officer Mike Vickory had just completed work at a sobriety checkpoint in Noblesville when his vehicle was struck from behind by the 16 year-old driving a pickup truck.
He continued driving and after a brief chase, had to be forced from his pickup.
Both the driver and another Westfield Police officer were injured in the scuffle.
The boy was later found to be driving while highly intoxicated.
The 16 year-old is now in the juvenile detention center in Noblesville.
Officer Vickory suffered back and neck pain from the crash.
