(WESTFIELD) - Westfield City Hall was packed Monday night as a public hearing was held on a proposed no smoking ordinance.
About 70 business owners attended the meeting with several of them speaking about the financial impact a ban would have on their businesses.
The owners discussed their civil rights along with those of their customers, and asked the council to allow people to make their own decisions.
Several cancer survivors addressed the council supporting a ban.
The ordinance was introduced in May, with a majority of council members expressing opposition.
Council members are not likely to make a decision until further discussion in upcoming meetings.
