(INDIANAPOLIS) - The iconic soldiers and sailors monument in downtown Indianapolis will undergo some renovations next month.
The observation deck, which was not part of the original construction when the structure was dedicated in 1902, is being replaced.
It is reportedly leaking, causing corrosion and deterioration of the inner steel support system.
Construction workers have been working inside to prepare for the installation of the new structure.
The $600,000 project is expected to be completed by mid-September.
