(MICHIGAN CITY) - Investigators are following 30 tips, hoping one of them will lead to the arrests of two fugitives on the run.
Six days ago, Lance Battreal and Mark Booher escaped through underground tunnels at the Michigan City Prison.
Another inmate, who also escaped with them, Charles Smith, was captured Monday in Grand Beach, Michigan.
So far, after several large searches, with search dogs and a helicopter; police haven't been able to hunt the men down.
The pair is considered violent criminal. Battreal was convicted of rape, Booher, of murder.
Three prison guards have been suspended for allowing the prisoners to have unsupervised time in the area of the underground tunnels.
